Verizon to sell over $10 Billion in cell tower and wireline assets2015-02-03 10:27 by DanielaTags: Verizon
According to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, Verizon intends to sell assets for more than $10 billion. Among those are mobile telephone towers and parts of its landline business, which is the largest in the country. The sale would allow Verizon to pay down debt and cover some of the $10.4 billion it spent in the AWS-3 auction. It will also allow the carrier to focus on its core wireless service, which brings more than 70 percent of its revenue. This is not the first time that the company sells properties. It has already sold off its entire Northern New England wireline regional assets to FairPoint and its rural properties in 14 states to Frontier. Now, the service provider is considering selling pieces of the wireline assets in the states it currently serves. Verizon declined to comment on the report. Read more -here-
