Microsoft releases critical updates2016-09-15 03:18 by DanielaTags: Microsoft, Patch Tuesday
In its last traditional Patch Tuesday Microsoft has released fixes for 94 flaws. Among them are remote code execution flaws, as well as a once-ignored critical bug in Internet Explorer that is being used by criminals. Labelled as CVE-2016-3351, the IE bug was first reported to Microsoft in 2015 but wasn't acted on, possibly because Microsoft didn't consider it critical. The vulnerability has been exploited in automated attacks on the web since as early as January 2014. The rest of the updates resolve issues in Microsoft Windows, Office, Office Service and Web Apps, Exchange and Adobe Flash Player. Next month, Microsoft moves to its new patching release model where all patches are bundled together and administrators will no longer be able to pick and choose which updates to install. Instead, Patch Tuesday, it will be called "Monthly Rollup". Read more -here-
