Amazon Kindle e-readers are getting a long-awaited feature that will allow them to display a book's cover art on the device's lock screen. The firmware update, which is rolling out right now, adds the option to set your Kindle's lock screen as the cover of whatever book you're reading. To enable the feature, you can go to the Device Options menu in Settings. At the top, you should see a Show Cover toggle. The displayed book cover will be of whatever book, magazine, comic, or manga you're currently reading. Until now, Amazon limited the lock screen customization options to a set of available scenes or a photo of your choosing. With covers now available, hopefully the option improves yet further so you can tag a few books you are reading and it cycles through their covers whenever the lock screen is triggered. The Display Cover feature is only supported on some Kindle devices without ads. These devices include the Kindle (8th, 10th generation), Kindle Paperwhite (7th, 10th gen), Kindle Oasis (8th, 9th, 10th gen), and Kindle Voyage (7th gen). Promotions on ad-supported devices can be disabled for $20, or by calling into customer support and asking real nicely, according to many reports on redditkindle. Read more -here-
