The Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) has recently expressed concerns that the CISPA cyber-security bill, currently making its way through the House, would effectively authorize hacking.
The Center for Democracy and Technology, along with dozens of other privacy advocates such as the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Constitution Project, sent a letter to the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, urging the lawmakers to hold an open markup of CISPA. CISPA was approved by the House by a 248-168 vote last April, but ended in political purgatory after lawmakers in the Senate failed to see eye-to-eye with their congressional counterparts.
