Apple's next iPhones may come with wireless charging2017-02-09 16:10 by DanielaTags: Apple, iPhone, wireless charging
Apple is reportedly working on over-the-air charging, which would allow a device to charge without needing to be directly connected to anything. According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company will include the new technology in the next iPhones, expected this fall. This includes both the redesigned "iPhone 8" and the next-generation iPhone 7 devices. The wireless charging could increase the cost of all 2017 iPhone models. Since such a charging could cause overheating, a new graphite layer will be added to protect the film 3D Touch sensor from overheating. The new hardware component will help control internal temperature, but will not affect user experience. The new 3D Touch sensor is expected to cost between 30 and 50 percent more than the one currently found in the iPhone 7 series. The assorted cost increases could explain why rumors suggest the "iPhone X" will be sold for more than $1,000. Read more -here-
