Americans want the President to have an Internet kill switch

Most people in America think that their President should have the right to switch off the rest of the world's Internet.

According to a poll, the former British colonies want their President to have an Internet kill switch.

Research conducted by Unisys found that 61 per cent of Americans said the President should have the ability to shut down portions of the Internet in the event of a cyber attack. Of course that could include cutting off countries that do not obey the will of the glorious US President or happen to run filesharing websites.

Patricia Titus, VP at Unisys said the figures indicate that the great unwashed of America are taking this whole cyber warfare thing very seriously.

"Our survey shows that the American public recognizes the danger of a cyber attack and wants the federal government to take an active role in extending the nation's cyber defence," she said.
